About the Center

Welcome to the UCF Metropolitan Center for Regional Studies—more commonly known as the UCF Metro Center. Established in 2001, the office serves as a bridge between the university campus and the community. The University of Central Florida plays a major role in the definition and development of the Central Florida region.

Our resources through research and faculty expertise make us an important asset as we come together with the community to address matters vital to the quality of life enjoyed by central Floridians. As a public university, we operate without political or corporate allegiances allowing us to function as a neutral party. This neutrality fosters trust forming a bond that spans the campus, the community and the region.

The UCF Metro Center, as part of the Division of Community Relations within the university, looks at issues and topics of relevance across the Central Florida Region stretching from Tampa, to Daytona, and to Brevard. As an educational tool, its efforts focus on community awareness and understanding on issues that affect us all. Please join us!
