Water Forum
Managing water resources is one of the complex problems facing the Central Florida Region. In an effort to draw together the perspective of a variety of views, on February 15, 2002, The UCF Metropolitan Center presented a two-day symposium on Central Florida water resources. Administrator Christine Todd Whitman of the United States Environmental Protection Agency was our keynote speaker. Dean Martin Wanielista of the College of Engineering and Dr. James Taylor, UCF's noted researcher on water issues, brought together public and private sector experts to address questions of water quantity and quality in the region. David B. Struhs, Secretary, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, discussed water resource issues from the point of view of the State.
