Internship requirements:

  • Junior/Senior undergraduate status or graduate status
  • Minimum GPA 3.0
  • Ability to work 15 hours per week

The Director is seeking 2 students (Junior, Senior or Grad Student Status) for 15 hours each per week. Students are eligible to receive course credit for these internships. Students will assist with research and preparation for a series of 30 minute TV shows for UCF TV. The shows will be one on one interviews with a variety of people focusing on issues relevant to Central Florida with an emphasis on economic impact and development. Interns would assist in the development of background information for each show topic, briefing the director of the center on that material, and assist with preparation of interview questions.

  • Ports of Florida
  • Regionalism
  • Climate Issues
  • Water
  • Transportation
  • Healthcare Reform
  • Sustainable Energy
  • Homeland Security
  • Healthy Communities Concept
  • USF-UCF-UF Corridor
  • Best practices from other locations across the nation
  • Space Florida Update
  • Lynx Network and Connectivity

Students would be to assigned 2-3 topics each.

Duties would include:

  • Build a file of newspaper articles, web articles, book sources
  • Watch for any interviews on Television, YouTube, local news on the topics with a transcription of questions asked
  • Prepare a brief for Director on the topic
  • Prepare interview questions with detailed responses
  • Report to Director on a weekly basis
  • Search for websites on the topics
  • Identify UCF faculty who are experts in pertinent fields
